Grand Mahashivaratri Celebrations at Sri Kapileswara Swamy Vari Temple












As part of the Brahmotsavam of Sri Kapileswaraswamy in Tirupati, the Mahashivaratri festival was celebrated with utmost devotional fervour on Friday.  Keeping in mind the rush of devotees, special queues, shelters and parking areas have been arranged by TTD.


Sarvadarshan started at 6 am in the temple.  A large number of devotees had darshan of Sri Kapileswara Swamy and Goddess Sri Kamakshi Devi.


BHOGI THERU PROCESSION AS A CELEBRATION


As part of Brahmotsavam, the Bhogi Theru procession was held from 7 to 9 am.  Rathotsavam was conducted in the city streets amidst the blare of bhajan mandals, bhajans and Mangala instruments.


After that, from 10 am to 11 am, the priests conducted Snanathiramanjanam.  Sri Somaskandamurthy and Sri Kamakshi Devi were rendered Abhishekam with milk, curd, honey, fruit juice and sandalwood.  


KALYANAM OF SIVA PARVATI ON MARCH 9


As part of the Brahmotsavam of Lord Kapileswara along with Shri Kamakshi, the Kalyana Mahotsavams of Siva Parvati will be held on Saturday, the day after Mahashivratri. 


This Kalyanatsavam is organized as Arjitaseva from 6 pm to 7 pm.  Grihastha devotees (two) can participate in Kalyanotsava by paying Rs.250/- and buying ticket.  


Temple Deputy EO Sri Devendra Babu, other staffs, devotees participated in this program.
