Rallapalli was an Exponent in Music and Literature - Scholars

TTD run Annamacharya project Director Dr Akella Vibhishana Sharma advocated that eminent scholar late Sri Rallapalli Ananthakrishna Sharma was an accomplished personality in both music and literature.

The TTD Annamacharya Project and All Hindu Projects jointly organized the 45th death anniversary of Sri Rallapalli Ananthakrishna Sharma at Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati on Monday evening.

Earlier, the TTD officials paid floral tributes to the statue of Sri Rallapalli Anantha Krishna Sharma on Sri Padmavati Mahila University Road in the morning.

Dr. Vibhishana Sharma who presided over the program said that in 1949, TTD handed over the responsibility of Sri Venkateswara Oriental Research Institute to Sri Rallapalli.  He is said to have composed hundreds of Sankirtans besides fixing the scriptures from the copper plates that were identified from the Tallapaka shelf in the Tirumala Srivari Temple.

It is said that only people like Sri Rallapalli, who are skilled in Shabdarthas, can solve Annamayya's sankirtanas well.  He explained that they experienced the mysticism of the music and lyrics of Annamayya's hymns and presented them to the world.

Later famous poet Sri Puttaparthi Narayanacharya said that Sri Rallapalli was compared to  Sage Vyasa.

Afterwards, Acharya Rallapalli Deepta, the granddaughter of Sri Rallapalli and Head of the Department of English, National Sanskrit University, spoke on the topic "Sri Rallapalli's Vaidushyam".  She said that Sri Rallapalli has solved and written about two thousand Annamayya Sankirtans.
