To inculcate Dharmik and spiritual values among the people of his times, Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya penned his Sankeertans that which were popular even among the rural and common masses, said Prof Kusuma Kumari, former VC of SK University.
On the fifth day of the ongoing week-long 616th Birth anniversary celebrations Telugu Padakavita Pitamaha, Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya held at Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati, the literary session held on Monday was chaired by Smt Kusuma Kumari who spoke on Annamaiah - Tatvikata. She advocated that Annmaiah took forward the divine names in simpler form through Sankeertans in local jargon to reach wide range of devotees.
Among others, Telugu Scholar from Hyderabad Dr Srimannarayana spoke on Annamaiah Sankeertanallo Bhakti Sourabham while the Telugu Head of the department of SPWDPG Dr Krishnaveni spoke on Annamaiah Sankeertanalu-Sandesham and renowned scholar from Tanuku Sri Rasaraju delivered lecture on Srivari Sevalo Annamaiah.
Earlier, Annamacharya Project artists Smt Nagamani team from Tirupati rendered Harikatha Ganam on the occasion.
Annamacharya Project Director Dr Vibhishana Sharma, Program Assistant Smt Kokila and others were present.
