Distribution of artificial limbs to 110 challenged patients of BIRRD was conducted on Saturday with the support of Sri Subramanian, the donor from Tamil Nadu who gave ₹ q crore towards the modernisation of the artificial limbs production centre at BIRRD hospital.
The artificial limbs manufactured by the Endolite company with technical support from the UK were freely given to patients through by TTD following the company's offer of the aluminium-made equipment at a 50% subsidy.
Patients said these equipments provided easy to use and were more comfortable than the Jaipur model.
Doctors from BIRRD hospital, medical staff and patients with their relatives were present.
