Jyestabhishekam Commences

The annual Jyestabhishekam commenced on a grand religious note in Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple on Tuesday.

On the first day, Kavacahadhivadam was held where the golden armour decked to the Utsava deity was removed amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by Pundits.

Usually, every year this fete commences on Jyesta Nakshatra and is observed for three days in Ashada month.
