Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam Held












The traditional temple cleansing ritual, Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam in connection with Anivara Asthanam on July 16 was observed in Tirumala on Tuesday.


Speaking about the significance of the ritual outside the temple after completion of Tirumanjanam, the EO Sri J Syamala Rao said, this fete is usually held four times in a year i.e., on the preceding Tuesday ahead of Ugadi, Vaikunta Ekadasi, annual Brahmotsavams and Anivara Asthanam, inside the hill temple.

As a part of the ritual, the entire temple premises including ceilings, walls, pillars were cleansed smearing Parimalam, a special mixture made of several aromatic ingredients.

Later the devotees were allowed for darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy.

JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore, DyEO Sri Lokanatham, Peishkar Sri Srihari were also present.
