The Honourable Chief Minister of AP Sri N Chandra Babu Naidu presented ‘silk vastrams’ to the temple deity, Sri Venkateswara, on behalf of the state government on the occasion of the annual Brahmotsavams that started in Tirumala on Friday.
Clad in traditional robes, the Chief Minister arrived at the Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple in front of the main temple complex. After a brief customary ceremony there, the temple priests draped a traditional ‘Parivattam’ over the head of the Chief Minister and placed the silver plate containing the sacred ‘vastrams’ on his head.
From there, the CM carried the set of scared silk robes on his head to the hill temple through the Mahadwaram in a celestial procession amidst the recitation of Veda Mantras and melodious play of Nadaswaram.
Later he formally handed these over the Pattu Silks to the chief priest inside the sanctum sanctorum. The Chief Minister later offered prayers to the presiding deity.
After darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, the CM was rendered Vedasirvachanam at the Ranganayakula Mandapam inside the hill temple. He was also presented with Theertha prasadams, a laminated photo of Srivaru on the occasion by the TTD EO Sri J Syamala Rao.
Endowments Minister of AP Sri Ramnarayana Reddy, Endowments commissioner Sri Satyanarayana, Tirupati Collector Sri Venkateswar, SP Sri Subbarayudu and others were present.
Among TTD officials, Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, JEOs Smt Goutami, Sri Veerabrahmam, CVSO Sri Sridhar, temple officials were also present.
