TTD took action against hotels and vehicles that did not comply with the rules.
TTD Estate Wing officials conducted surprise inspections and seized many unhygienic fast food centers and shops selling food items to devotees at high prices.
In view of the large number of devotees coming from all over the country for the annual Brahmotsavam of Tirumala, inspections were conducted.
A tea shop selling high prices and two fancy shops were seized at PAC-2 (Madhava Nilayam).
Later, 5 fast food centers were seized at Govardhan Choultries, which were occupying more than the allotted space by TTD and running unhygienic fast foods and selling them to devotees at high prices.
Three hawker license shops occupying a lot of space near PAC-1 and doing business have been temporarily closed and their license documents were taken away.
Devotees were not allowed to walk on the DMB road and warnings were issued to those running businesses on the road. He warned that strict action will be taken if he comes again.
Shops and fast food operators at Sri Varaha Swamy Guest House are advised to maintain cleanliness and conduct business as per the prescribed rates.
Similarly, TTD has taken action based on complaints from devotees that taxi drivers and tempo travellers in Tirumala are collecting money against the rules.
A devotee named Suresh from Chilakaluripeta came for darshan along with his family members and the Tempo Traveler driver at Ram Bhagichha bus stand took Rs.500 rupees for 14 people to drop them at the queue line of Shilataranam for darshan and instead left them at Octopus Circle itself and went away.
