Review Meeting on Tirumala Traffic Management Held







In view of the ever-increasing vehicular traffic along with environmental concerns in Tirumala there is an urgent need for a Tirumala Integrated Traffic Management System (TITMS) said TTD Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary.


Along with the CVSO Sri Sridhar and SP Sri Subbarayudu, he reviewed in length on the need for Traffic Management at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Thursday evening.

The points of discussion included short-term and long-term plans for Traffic Management in Tirumala. The Additional EO said a co-ordination Committee with TTD Cops, Tirumala Police, RTA, Town planning, APSRTC, Engineering, Revenue, GM Transport as members should be formed immediately to asses the issues and submit the recommendations in a week.

Some excerpts from the meeting:

Identifying Traffic Congestion points in Tirumala viz. Gokulam, ATC, Rambhageecha and other areas

Earmarking specific routes and parking places for different categories of Darshan pilgrims
and also for Private Vehicles and Yellow Board Taxis.

Allotment of additional forces for Tirumala Traffic to avoid traffic congestion during odd hours

In all future constructions, parking facilities shall be made mandatory while approving building plans and also mulling Multi-level parkings

Stringent measures on taxi drivers for violating rules and Wide publicity shall be given through display boards, PA system, effective patroling and educating them on restricted access areas.

Exclusive mobile app for traffic and parking updates with digital
Kiosks with up-to-date traffic parking information shall also be planned.

GM Transport Sri Sesha Reddy, ASP Sri Ramakrishna, VGOs Sri Ramkumar, Sri Surendra and officers from TTD, Vigilance,  police, RTA, APSRTC, Town planning were also present.
