TTD EO Sri J Shyamala Rao along with Additional EO Mr CH. Venkaiah Chaudhary conducted extensive inspection in several areas of Tirumala on Friday.
First, they inspected the dumping yard at Kakulmanu Dibba near Gogarbham Reservoir and directed officials to take steps to remove the garbage that had accumulated there for a decade within three months.
Speaking to the media later EO said that arrangements are being made to remove one lakh metric tonnes of garbage accumulated in Tirumala since 30 years. He said that steps will be taken to prevent the stench from the accumulated garbage and actions will be taken as per the solid waste management regulations. He said that they have discussed with Tirupati Municipality officials to move the garbage from the Tirumala dumping yard and the municipal officials have already visited the dumping yard.
He further said that all the garbage will be removed in three to four months and in the future, the system of scientifically dumping the garbage will be implemented. He said that there are thousands of tons of wet garbage and if the IOCL biogas plant lift the amount of wet garbage will be reduced. He said that about 20 thousand tons of compost has already been prepared from wet garbage.
After reaching Papaninashanam, EO inspected the toilets, changing rooms and the parking areas and made several suggestions to officials. Among others he also directed the forest officials to develop the parks, repainting the sign boards in Papavinasanam. He also checked the toll receipts issued at the Papavinasanam toll gate.
Later EOmalso inspected and instructed officials to arrange facilities at the Akashganga Tirtha so that the devotees do not face any problem. He ordered to remove of the encroachments of the shops on the Akashaganga stairway so as not to disturb the movement of devotees.
TTD CE sri Satyanarayana, EE Sudhakar, Transport GM Sri Sesha Reddy, Dy CF0 Sri Srinivas, Deputy EO Smt Asha Jyoti, VGOSri Surendra and other officials were present.
