Procession of Flowers










The procession of tonnes of flowers was held on Saturday in connection with Pushpayagam.

Speaking on the occasion the Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary said every year the annual Pushpayagam is observed in a grand manner in Tirumala. To waive off the sins committed either knowingly or unknowingly by the temple staff as well the pilgrims, the Pushpayagam is performed.

Today nine tonnes of 17 varieties of flowers, six types of leaves were donated by donors which includes five tonnes from TN and two tonnes each from AP and Karnataka, he added.

Around 300 Srivari Sevaks carried each basket of flowers and leaves from Garden department to temple in a colourful procession.

Temple DyEO Sri Lokanatham, Garden Dy Director Sri Srinivasulu and others were present.
