TTD Chairman Sri BR. Naidu said that large-scale arrangements are being made to ensure that the common devotees can have a peaceful and hassle free Srivari darshan during the ten-day Vaikuntha Ekadasi Vaikuntha Dwaram from January 10-19.
He inspected the arrangements being made at Ramachandra Pushkarini on Saturday along with TTD, municipal and police officials.
Speaking to the media later the Chairman appealed to the devotees to observe restraint and cooperate with the officials.
He said that TTD made active plans to issue 1.20 lakh SSD tokens from 5 am on January 9 for January 10, 11 and 12.
Tokens will be issued at a total of 94 counters, including 90 counters at 8 centers in Tirupati and 4 counters in one Centre at Tirumala.
Arrangements are being made at Indira Maidanam, Ramachandra Pushkarini, Srinivasam Complex, Vishnunivasam Complex, Bhudevi Complex, Ramanaidu High School in Bhairagipatteda, Zilla Parishad High School in MR Pally, Zilla Parishad High School in Jeevakona, as well at the Tirumala Balaji Nagar Community Hall for Tirumala locals.
He said that work is underway to issue tokens on a day prior from January 13 to 19 only at Bhudevi Complex, Srinivasam and Vishnu Nivasam in Tirupati.
He said authorities were advised to take strong measures at all counters such as manning queue lines, erecting barricades, sheds, beefing up security, drinking water, toilets, etc. for the convenience of devotees in Tirupati.
TTD JEO(E& H) Smt Gautami, CVSO Sri Sridhar, Municipal Commissioner Smt N. Maurya, TTD CE MrSri Satyanarayana and other officials were present.
