Ramachandra Katta Venchepu

On the occasion of Sri Andal Neeratotsavam which will be observed from January 6 to 12 Sri Govindaraja Swamy visited Ramachandrakatta on Sunday.  

It is customary for the Swamy to go on a procession first to supervise the arrangements for the Neeratotsavam of Andal Ammavaru.  The program was held from 4 pm to 6 pm.

From January 6 till 13, every morning at 5.30 am, Sri Andal leaves for Neeradai Mandapam on Ramachandra Katta through the mada streets of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple and later Abhishekam and Asthana were performed.  

This festival is usually held to symbolize the penance done by Sri Andal for Lord.  

In the evening Sri Andal Ammavaru circumambulates around Sri Kodanda Ramalayam and returns to Sri Govindarajaswamy temple in a procession.
