Annamacharya Sankeertans in Simple Sanskrit






Sri Thallapaka Annamacharya penned many Sankeertans in simple Sanskrit so that Telugu people could understand them, said the teacher of SV University Campus High School Smt. Suhasini.  


As part of Annamacharya's 522nd Death anniversary fete, literary conference was held at Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati on Thursday.

On this occasion, Acharya Suhasini gave a lecture on 'Annamayya's Sankirtanas - Music' and said that Annamayya has written about 80 Sankeertans in Sanskrit. ''Annamayya created his literature by combining the essence of Saranagati, Lokanithi and Vedas'', she added.  She said that Annamayya has a special place in all devotional literature.  He explained that the essence of all mantras is in Sri Venkateswara Mantra, and expressed immense devotion towards Him with enumerable Sankeertans, she observed.

Acharya Sri Damodar Naidu, Retired Professor SV University, spoke on the topic "Annamayya - Sri Venkateswara Satakam", Dr. Ravikrishna of Guntur District Lemallapadu YTS ​​School gave a lecture on "Sri Venkatesa Padalalo Viseshamsamulu''.      

In the morning, the artists of the Annamacharya Project, Sri Madhusudhana Rao presented Annamacharya Sankeertans in a melodious way.

TTD officials, Annamacharya project artists and local devotees participated in this program.
