The role of a woman in building up a healthy and strong society is crucial, asserted TTD Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdary.
Participating as Chief Guest in the International Women's Day celebrations held on Friday at the Mahathi Auditorium in Tirupati, in his enlightening speech he stated that wealth can be created in the society with the participation of women and there is no wealth beyond knowledge.
Attributing the origin of International Women's day to the movements led by women folk across the world in the history spanning around 100 odd years, he called upon the women employees of TTD to brace up themselves to play a vital role in taking for the administration and reputation of TTD to the next level with their sincere efforts.
TTD Trust Board members Smt Rangasri, Smt Janaki Devi also spoke on the occasion and explained the important role played by women in various fields with a great spirit and dedication.
Chief Speaker Smt Balalata, Director CBI IAS Academy, Hyderabad said women have showcased their skills in all the fields and in many areas they are even outsmarting men with their calibre and commitment, she maintained.
Renowned Doctor, Dr Rekha in her speech given a clarion call to the women especially girl students to keep in mind three important ideals in their life which makes them a perfect individual which includes personal health care, discipled life and time sense.
In her speech, another versatile speaker Smt Rajeswari said mother is the first god and a women is given a prominent place in Hindu Sanatana Dharma.
TTD Devasthanam Law Officer Sri Varaprasad Rao shared how his grandmother struggled and educated his entire family though she was an illiterate.
Later Smt Indrani, former Principal of SV College of Music and Dance, Ms. Jeevanji Deepthi, Para Olympics Bronze medal winner in 400m running and also an Arjun Awardee spoke on the occasion.
Later Padma Awards were given to the women who showcased extraordinary talents in their work places while retired first woman special Grade DyEO Smt Kousalya Devi was also felicitated on the occasion.
In the evening cultural programs were performed by women employees while prizes were awarded to the winners in the competition held to women employees on the occasion of International Women's Day.
Welfare Officer Sri Anandaraju, Women Deputy EOs, Principals, various other officers, union leaders, men employees, students, Srivari sevaks were also present.
While the entire programme was anchored by Ms P Neelima, PRO(FAC) and Dr Krishnaveni, Head of the Department of Telugu in SPWDPG College.
