Dry Fruit Garlands Steals the Show on the First Day of Snapanam















As a part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams in Tirumala, the sacred Snapana Tirumanjanam was observed on Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm in a grand manner in the Ranganayakula Mandapam.


Usually during the annual fete, Snapana Tirumanjanam is performed to the Utsava deities as a "Soothing Ritual" from the hectic schedule of Vahana Sevas and other religious activities.


The entire Mandapam was tastefully decked with various fruits especially with a canopy of oranges atop and exotic flowers hanging all over. While rendering Snapanam to the Utsava deities, after the completion of each phase of Abhishekam with one sacred material, the garlands and crowns were changed to deties for nine times. The deities were decked with the garlands made of Cardamom, Kuskus, Pistachios, Sandal, black grapes, Yellow Horns(Pasupu Kommulu), coral-type rose petals, roses and Tulasi.


All these decorations were prepared by 250 florists from Tamilnadu and Karnataka besides 150 Garden staff of TTD with the donations made by Tamilnadu devotees from Tiruppur and Salem. 


The entire event was a cynosure to the devotees who witnessed live as well to the millions who watched on the SVBC. The entire premises was filled with aromatic fumes amidst the rhythmic chanting of Vedic hymns by the Veda Pundits. 


TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, JEO for Health and Education Smt Sada Bhargavi, DyEO Temple Sri Lokanatham, Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu and others were present.


Cultural Teams Enthrall Devotees











Attractive cultural programs organised by TTD Dharmic Projects during the Srivari Vahana Sevas enthralled the devotees along the four Mada streets during the Chinna Vahana Seva held on Tuesday morning. 


In all, 217 artists belonging to Nine cultural teams from different states displayed their talents, captivating the devotees. The Udupi Mela presented by a 12 member troupe of Palimaru Matham of Udupi in Karnataka comprising drums and talas heightened the devotional fervour. The Udupi team has been participating in the Srivari Brahmotsavams for the last fifteen years. This show was followed by a 30-member dance team of Puducherry which displayed Mahishasura Mardini Alankaram in Mohini Attam format.


Six teams of TTD's Dasa sahitya project artists from Chennai,Salem and Srirangam presented Bharatanatyam, folk dance, tala bhajan and displayed Krishna Leela.


All Projects Programme Officer Sri Rajagopal, HDPP Secretary Dr Srinivasulu , Dasa Sahitya project Special Officer Sri Anandathirthacharyulu supervised the programmes.


AP CM Offers Prayers in Tirumala












The Honourable CM of AP Sri YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday offered prayers in the Hill shrine of Sri Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala.


Earlier on his arrival at Mahadwaram he was welcomed traditionally with Isthikaphal and taken inside the temple amidst Vedic chants and mangalavaidyams.


After offering prayers he was offered Vedasirvachanam at Ranganayakula Mandapam and presented with Swamivari Theerthaprasadams by the TTD Chairman Sri Karunakara Reddy.


Deputy CM Sri Narayana Swamy, Ministers Sri Ramachandra Reddy, Smt Roja, TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy and other state and district public representatives, authorities were also present.

Dwaraka Krishna on Chinna Sesha Vahanam












Sri Malayappa Swamy decked as Dwaraka Krishna blessed His devotees on the second day morning of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams in Tirumala.


BOOKS RELEASED


Three spiritual books including Sri Venkateswara Swamy Varu by Archakam Sri Ramakrishna Deekshitulu, Sri Venkateswara Sachitra Suprabhatam in Telugu and Kannada, Hindumata Puranangalil Needikathaigal in Tamil were released in front of the Chinna Sesha Vahanam by TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy.


TTD Chairman Sri B Karunakara Reddy,One of the Chief Priests of Tirumala temple Sri Venugopala Deekshitulu, SE2 Sri Jagadeeshwar Reddy, DyEO Sri Lokanatham, Annamacharya Project Director Dr Vibhishana Sharma and others were present.
