Pavitra Samarpana Observed









The Pavitra Malas were offered to all the deities as a part of the ongoing annual Pavitrotsvams in Tiruchanoor temple on Thursday.


DyEO Sri Govindarajan and other temple staffs, Grihasta devotees were present.


Vedasirvachanam and Kumkumarchana Arjita Sevas in Sri Govindaraja Swamy Vari Temple



TTD has introduced  Vedasirvachanam and Kumkumarchana as new arjita sevas at Sri Govindaraja Swami Temple in Tirupati.


Vedasirvachanam is introduced as a daily seva. Grihastas who book this ticket by paying Rs.500/- will be presented a Uttariyam and a blouse as a gift. 


Kumkumarchana Seva is performed every Friday in Sri Pundarikavalli temple.  Devotees can book by paying Rs.250/- per seva ticket.


One Crore Bhagvadgita Books Distribution in Telugu States - TTD Chairman







TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said on Thursday at Chennai that TTD would soon publish one crore easy to read version of Sri Bhagavadgita in Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi for distribution among students in both Telugu states as part of the propagation of Hindu Sanatana Dharma.


Earlier Sri AJ Shekar Reddy was sworn in as Chairman of Chennai Local Advisory Committee Chairman in front of Sri Venkateswara Swamy at TTD information centre in the presence of TTD Chairman at Chennai.


Later speaking to reporters, the TTD Chairman said on the advice of Pontiffs and Acharyas, TTD plans to undertake a massive Dharmic campaign with a revival of programs like Kalyanamastu and Srivari Kalyanotsavams.


He said the  TTD board has initiated among youth Govinda Koti writings, devotee safety measures in leopard threat route of Alipiri footpath including provision of fencing and hand sticks.


Sri Shekar Reddy said the Chennai Srivari temple will be expanded over 11 grounds from the existing 5.5 grounds with donors contributions of 19 crores. Among others, Kalyana Mandapam will be built over 1.5 acres at Rayapetah in Chennai, Srinivasa Kalyanam in Kanyakumari, Trichy, Madurai, and Coimbatore, Srivari temple at Vellore.


TTD board members Dr Shankar, Ex board member Sri Kumaraguru, Dyeo Sri Vijaykumar and others were present.


Earlier the TTD Chairman was given a grand reception at the Srivari temple and later he inspected the location for development and also had Darshan of Sri Padmavati temple.


Meanwhile, Sri Ravichandran representing the True Value Home handed over a cheque for 1 crore for the development of Chennai Srivari temple.


TTD Chairman Launches Book




TTD Chairman Sri B Karunakara Reddy released a book, "Tirumala the Seven Hills of Salvation'',  published by The Hindu English Daily, at the Chennai Information Center on Thursday.


This book features the history of Tirumala and other significant details. 


Chennai Local Advisory Committee Chairman Sri Shekhar Reddy, The Hindu CEO Mr Navaneeth, Business Line Editor Mr Raghuveer Srinivasan, Magazines, Special Publications Head Mr R Srinivasan, Tamil Nadu Circulation Division Senior General Manager Sri. Babu Vijay participated in the event.

Ananta Padmanabha Vratam Held







On the auspicious occasion of Ananta Padmanabha Vratam on Thursday, Chakra Snanam was performed in Tirumala.


Sri Sudarshana Chakrattalwar was brought from Tirumala temple on a procession to Swamy Pushkarini at around 6am and Snapanam and special pujas were rendered by priests.


Later the Chakrattalwar was rendered a holy dip in the sacred waters and brought back to the temple.


Every year on the auspicious day of Bhadrapada Chaturdasi, Ananta Padmanabha Vratam is observed by men akin to Varalakshmi Vratam by women devotees.


Temple staff, religious staff were present.

Spiritual Book Released by Tirumala Pontiff



HH Tirumala Sri Pedda Jeeyangar Swamy along with his deputy,  HH Chinna Jeeyangar of Tirumala released a Tamil book on 'The divine history of Sri Anantalwan', brought out by The Hindu group of publications, at Tirumala on Wednesday.


Speaking on the occasion the Senior Pontiff of Tirumala said the book throws light on the history of the great Sri Vaishnavite Saint Anantalwar who lived on Tirumala hills during the period 1053 - 1138.


He said Anantalwan pioneered Pushpa Kainkaryam to the Tirumala shrine by developing a flower garden and offered garlands to the temple everyday. ''And today this book is released on the auspicious day Bagh Savari which is observed in Anantalwar Gardens'', he observed.


The seer called on to the devout to read the book to understand the power of devotion towards a Guru.


The book was originally written in Telugu by Mr. P. V. Rami Reddy, a devotee of Hyderabad, and translated by Ms. Raji Ragunathan in Tamil.
