Chakra Theertha Mukkoti Fete Held







TTD organised the grand Chakra Theertha  Mukkoti festival on Friday as part of Karthika Masa festivities.

 

Archakas, attendants and devotees from Srivari temple came to Chakra in the morning. They performed Abhisekam, flower decorations, in a procession amidst Mangal Vaidyams and Harati followed by Theertha  Prasadams to devotees.

 

Legend as per Skanda Purana highlights the glory of Maha Vishnu who protected a Yogi's penance from demons with His Sudarshan Chakra.

 

Varaha Purana also highlighted Chakra Theertha as one of the most auspicious among the 66 crore Theethas in the Seshachala Hill Ranges.

 

Temple officials, Archakas and a large number of devotees participated in this religious fete.

 

Majestic Kaisika Dwadasi Fete at Srivari Temple










The auspicious Kaishika Dwadasi (Uttana Dwadasi) festival was observed in a grand manner at Srivari temple during the early hours of Friday.

 

As a part of this unique fete, Sri Urga Srinivasa Murthy along with His consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi blessed devotees all along the four Mada streets.

 

Titled as Venkatturaiwar and Snapana Bera, the idol of Sri Ugra Srinivasa Murthy was paraded before sunrise on the Kaisika Dwadasi day which happens only once in a year.

 

After the utsava idols are seated in Asthana Mandapam at Bangaru Vakili with Purana Pathanam by Archakas.

Legend says that  Kaisika Dwadasi is an auspicious fete observed in all Sri Vaishnava Shrines. The celebrations are as per specifics mentioned in 82 shlokas of Sri Varaha Perumal Kaisika Puranam

 

Tirumala Pontiffs Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyarswami and  Sri Sri Sri Chinna Jeeyarswami, TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy, Board members Sri Subbaraju, Sri Yanadaiah, Sri Saurabh Bohra, and other temple officials were present.

Annual Karthika Deepotsavam on 26th Nov



As part of tradition, TTD is conducting the Annual Karthika Deepotsavam on November 26 at Srivari temple after daily Kainkaryams and Nivedana.

 

This fete includes litting of ghee Diyas in the temple between 6 pm and 8 pm. The Diyas will be lighted at all locations inside the Srivari temple like sub temples, mandapams and mahadwaram etc. besides the Bedi Anjaneya temple, Sri Varaha Swami temple and Sri Swami Pushkarani.

 

In view of the festival, TTD has cancelled the Sahara Deepalankara Seva

 

Pournami Garuda Seva on November 27

 

On Pournami day, the tradition of conducting Garuda Vahana Seva on November  27 will be observed.

 

Sri Malayappa Swamy will ride on His favourite Garuda Vahanam on the occasion and bless His devotees along the four mada streets.

 

December Festivals at Sri Kapileswara Swamy Vari Temple


The following are some of the special festivals at Sri Kodandarama Swami temple in the month of December.

 

December 1: Sitarama kalyanam on Punarvasu nakshatram at 11am.

 

December 2,9,16,23,30: Abhisekam on all Saturdays at 6 am

 

December 12: Amavasya Sahasra Kalashabisekam in the morning and Hanumanta Vahanam in the evening.

 

December 26: On Pournami day - Astottara Kalashabisekam in the morning, Tiruchi procession in the evening followed by Asthanam.
