Vaikuntadwara Darshan Significance Lasts on all 10 Days - Srivari Temple Pradhana Archaka










TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy said that TTD is making extensive arrangements for providing Srivari Vaikuntadwara Darshan to as many devotees as possible from December 23 to January 1.


Addressing the media conference after a review meeting with all heads of TTD departments at the Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Monday evening, the EO said the Vaikuntadwara Darshan commences from early hours of December 23 at 1.45 am and will conclude at the midnight of January 1. 


He briefed the media on arrangements...


•  With an objective to reduce the waiting time of devotees in queue lines  TTD will issue 4,23,500 Sarva Darshan offline tokens from December 22 afternoon 2pm in all  92 counters at 9 locations in Tirupati.


•  The token issuing locations are: Vishnu Nivasam, Srinivasam, Govindarajaswami Choultries, Bhudevi Complex, Ramachandra Pushkarani, Indira Maidan, Jeevakona High School, Raman  Naidu High School in Bairagipettada and ZP school in  MR Palli.


•  Special queue lines, barricades, drinking water, coffee, tea, snacks will be provided at these counters.


•  QR code boards will be displayed at all these counters for the benefit of devotees.


•  With the coordination of district authorities, traffic and civil police security arrangements were also made.


•  Since limited rooms available in Tirumala, devotees shall book rooms in Tirupati itself during these festive days.


•  Only devotees with tickets or tokens will be allotted rooms.


•  As in past break Darshan facility is provided to protocol VIPs in person in limited numbers only. During these ten days no recommendation letters for break Darshan will be accepted.


•  Devotees with tokens and tickets alone shall be allowed for Srivari Vaikuntadwara Darshan at Tirumala 24 hours ahead only.


•  Devotees without tokens could reach Tirumala but can not get Darshan. They can visit other places in Tirumala viz. Papavinasanam, Akasa Ganga etc.


•  Devotees with tokens or tickets should come for Srivari Darshan at a specified date and time only.


•  Devotees should plan Tirumala only after ascertaining the availability of tokens through SVBC channel and TTD website.


Special programs 


•  Sri Malayappa Swami and His consorts will ride Swarna ratham on Mada streets on Vaikunta Ekadasi day  between 9am and 11am.


•  On Vaikunta Dwadasi day on December 24, Chakra Snanam will be organised between 4.30am and 5.30 am.


•  On Vaikunta Ekadasi day Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanams will be observed at the Nada Neeranjanam platform between 6am and 7am and on the same day being Gita Jayanti, Bhagavad Gita Akhanda Parayanam will also be recited between 12noon and 4pm.


Puranic significance of Vaikunta Dwara Darshan 


•  As per Puranic legend one day duration in Vaikunta of Sri Maha Vishnu is considered as one year on the Earth. Similarly, the 12 hours of daytime in Vaikunta is 6 months in earth also termed as Uttarayana and 12 hours of nightfall in Vaikunta is six months of Dakshinayana on Earth.


•  Likewise 120 minutes in Vaikunta is 30 days on the Earth known as Dhanur Masa. In that one day He provides darshan to all the deities for 40 minutes which is equal to 10 days of Vaikunthadwara Darshanam on the Earth.


The devotees should note that all these ten days are equally important.


Darshan on any 10 days is Divine- Sri Venugopala Dikshitulu


Speaking on the occasion one of the Pradhana archakas of Srivari temple Sri Venugopala Dikshitulu highlighted the significance of Vaikuntadwara Darshan and said Srivari Darshan on any one of these ten days earns the same outcome of bliss to the devotees.

Students Bhagvad Gita Contest Held







As part of the upcoming Gita Jayanti celebrations, the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad wing of TTD has conducted Bhagavad Gita recital competitions on Sunday at Annamacharya Kalamandiram for students.


Ten students each in 18 years above and 18 years below category participated in the Contest for the recital of 700 shlokas from 

Bhagavad Gita.


Among others, there were 89 students from 6th &7th standards & 47 belonging to 8th &9th standards from Tirupati district.


The contest was supervised by Sri Somayajulu, the Secretary of HDPP  with a team of 12 judges.


The winners will be presented prizes during the Gita Jayanti festival on December 23.

Heralded Srivari Glory Embedded in Inscriptions









Eminent epigraphist Sri Sadhu Subramanyam was paid rich tributes on his 135th Birth Anniversary.


He was hailed by scholars for translating the inscriptions of the Srivari temple and heralding the glory of Sri Venkateswara Swamy across the globe.


Participating in the 135 Jayanti celebrations of Sri Sadhu Subramanya Sastry held at Annamacharya Kalamandiram Scholar Sri Krishna Reddy said  Sri Subramanya Sastry had brought out and translated over 1000 inscriptions at Srivari temple and also credited for unearthing Annamacharya Sankeertans (12,000 of 32,000 sankeertans that were discovered so far) and dedicated them to the society.


Earlier TTD CAuO Sri Sesha Shailendra highlighted the works of eminent scholars like Sri Sadhu Subramanya Sastry, Sri Veturi Prabhakara Shastry and Sri Rallapalli Ananta Krishna Sharma and said their life and contributions should inspire both senior citizens and youth.


Thereafter prominent journalist Sri Ma Sharma presented a lecture on  ‘ Shastri’s Multifaceted acumen ‘.


Earlier CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore and PRO Dr T Ravi paid floral tributes and garlanded the life-size bronze statue of Sri Sadhu Subramanya Sastry located at the SVETA Bhavan in Tirupati on Sunday.


Daughter of Sri Shastri Smt Girija, Grandson and Judge Sri Murthy and Director of Annamacharya Project Dr Akella Vibhishana Sharma were present.
