Kupchandrapeta Utsavam Held
The annual Kupchandrapeta Utsavam of Tirupati Sri Kodandarama Swami was celebrated on Sunday.
On the next day of Magha Pournami, it is customary to take the ceremonial idols of Sri Kodandaramaswami along with Sri Seethalakshmana in a procession to Kupuchandrapeta village near Tirupati.
As part of this, a procession of Utsavamurtis reached Kupuchandrapeta, 8 km from Tirupati.
Snapana Tirumanjanam was held there followed by Unjal seva in the evening.
After that the village festival was held and the deities returned to the temple.
Both the Tirumala pontiffs, DyEO Smt Nagaratna and others were present.
Thousands of voters & supporters of Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, celebrate his birthday at a grand function!
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy’s birthday was celebrated in a grand manner amidst festive spirit with fun and frolic by over 20,000 voters and supporters of his from Chevella, RR District at Sandhya Gardens, Appa junction, today.
On the occasion, like every year on his birthday, Shri Vishweshwar Reddy disbursed cheques to meritorious, needy, students from Chevella constituency.
The event became memorable with Vishweshwar Reddy cutting the cake amidst students from government schools. Former minister Etala Rajendar, former MLA K S Ratnam, Sherlingampally and Rajendranagar BJP MLA contestants Ravikumar Yadav and Thokala Srinivas Reddy, Social activist Saroj Bajaj, politicians, political leaders, supporters and voters in large numbers from Chevella, RR District and other areas joined in the celebrations.
A melodious song scripted on Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and a video documentary on his political and social contribution, conceived and produced by his supporters, was released to commemorate the occasion.
Temple Cleansed to Host Annual Fete
The famous TTD shrine dedicated to Lord Siva in Tirupati, the Kapileswara Swamy temple was cleansed on Sunday for the ensuing annual Brahmotsavams scheduled from March 1 to 10 with Ankurarpanam on February 29.
The traditional Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was observed between 11:30am and 2:30pm in the temple.
Later the devotees were allowed for darshan.
Temple DyEO Sri Devendra Babu and others were present.
