Sri Gadicharla Hari Sarvothamma Rao's life is an example for today's generation, said Sri Krishnadevaraya University retired VC Prof.  Kusuma Kumari. 


The 64th birth anniversary of Sri Gadicharla Hari Sarvottam Rao was held under the auspices of Sri Venkateswara Central Library and Research Centre, Tirupati.


Speaking on the occasion Prof.  Kusuma Kumari said Sri Hari Sarvottama Rao was a great person who introduced the library movement and the importance of adult education.


Sri Bhuman Subramanyam Reddy, Director of SVETA, who presided over the program, explained to the students about the uniqueness of the library with the inspiration of Sri Gadicharla how the  Library has taken up digitization and collection of books.


Later, Sri Sannidhanam Narasimha Sharma, Curator of Gautami Library from Rajahmundry, said that Sri Hari Sarvottama Rao was a great freedom fighter, we should respect our land that gained independence through hard work and we should not forget the spirit of freedom fighters.


Sri Ramachandra Reddy, Retired Professor of History Department of SV University, Dr. Pullareddy, Officer of SV Central Library and Research Center, students of SV Arts College, SPW Mahila College participated in this program.


Special Events at Tirupati Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Vari Temple




Many special festivals will be held in Tirupati Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy Temple in the month of March. Their details are as follows.


Abhishekam will be performed for Sri Sitarama Lakshmana Moolavarlu on March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30  at 6 am on Saturday.

Sahasra Kalasabhishekam will be performed on March 10 on the occasion of Amavasya at 8 am. Hanuman Vahanaseva will be held on the same day evening at 7 pm.


On the occasion of Punarvasu Nakshatra on March 19, Sri Sitarama Kalyanam will be held at 11 am. At 5.30 pm the deities are taken in a procession through the four mada streets on the Tiruchi temple to Sri Ramachandra Pushkarini. Unjal seva will be performed at 6.30 pm. 


Ashtottara Shatakalasabhishekam will be performed at 8.30 am on the occasion of full moon day on March 25. At 5.30 pm, Tiruchi Utsav will be held from the four mada streets of the temple to Sri Ramachandra Pushkarini. Temple Court will be held at 6.30 pm.


Brahmotsavams of Sri Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple Begins with Dwajarohanam










The annual Brahmotsavam of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara temple commenced on a religious note on Thursday with a grand Dwajarohanam fete amidst mangala vaidyams and chanting by Veda Pundits and Govinda Namas by devotees.


Earlier Tiruchi utsavam was observed signalling Swamis personal supervision of all arrangements ahead of rituals and Dwajarohanam and indicative of inviting all deities under the guidance of Kankana Bhattar Sri Seshacharya 


Elaborate preparations: JEO Sri Veerabrahmam 


Speaking on the occasion JEO Sri Veerabrahmam said extensive arrangements were being made for the nine-day fete including the provision of srivari laddus to devotees. He said Garuda Seva will be held on March 4, Swarna Ratham on 5, Rathotsavam on 7, Chakra Snanam on 8 and that Vahana Sevas will be conducted both in the morning and evening.


Two umbrellas donated 


Representatives of Sri Ramanuja Trust of Tiruniravuru, Tamilnadu presented two umbrellas which were received by JEO Sri Veerabrahmam in front of the temple.


Temple special officer and CPRO Dr TRavi, special grade DyEO Smt Varalakshmi, Vaikhanasa Agama adviser Srinivas Mohana Rangacharyulu, AEO Sri Gopinath and others, devotees were present.

TTD Chairman and the Eo Launch Nitya Annaprasadam at Sri Govindaraja Swmay Vari Temple









TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy along with the EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy launched Nitya Annaprasadam distribution at Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple on Thursday for the benefit of devotees in the presence of HH Sri Pedda Jeeyar and HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamijis of Tirumala.


Speaking on the occasion the Chairman said  TTD was poised to conduct the Annaprasadam program more extensively to benefit all devotees coming to the pilgrim city. He said arrangements are being made at Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple to provide Annaprasadam to about 2000 devotees every day from 11 am to 4.00 pm at Sri Nammalwar Sannidhi on the North Mada street of the temple.


Today besides Tirumala, Annaprasadam is being served to tens of thousands of devotees even at Sri Padmavati Ammavari temple in Tiruchanoor and now onwards at Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple. "Soon we will launch the Annaprasadam distribution programme in Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Vontimitta also", he maintained.


He recollected his childhood days of visiting Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple for Anna Prasadam and said it is a matter of pride for him that as Chairman of TTD today he has launched such a charitable program.


JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, FACAO Sri Balaji, CE Sri Nageswara Rao, CPRO Dr T Ravi, DyEOs Sri Rajendra, Smt Shanti, VGO Sri Bali Reddy, Catering Special Officer Sri Shastry and others were also present.

Ankurarpanam Performed












The annual Brahmotsavams in Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple will kick off with Dwajarohanam on March 1 with the ritual of prelude, Ankurarpanam observed on Thursday evening.


Sri Vinayaka Swamy took out a celestial ride on Mooshika Vahanam earlier followed by the Beejavapanam activity.


The Nandi flag will be hoisted on the temple mast in the auspicious Meena Lagnam on Friday at 7:40am.
