International Women Day Observed with Fervour by TTD

The base of Human Civilization is a woman, advocated TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy amidst a grand round of applause from women folks who participated in the International Women's Day held at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Thursday.

Gracing the event as the Chief Guest TTD Trust Board Chairman quoted the examples of Gargi, Ghosha, Lopamudra of Vedic age to the women PMs who ruled the countries across the world and the present day women who are doing wonders in every field on par with men giving them tough competition he aspired the women employees of TTD as well the students of various TTD educational institutions to follow their path and achieve goals.

Earlier TTD EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy wished every woman and girl the International women's Day and said in Hindu Dharma the role of women is more important than God... "Talli, Tandri, Guruvu, Daivam"... So women are the custodians of the human race, he maintained.

Renowned Spiritual Speaker Dr Ananta Lakshmi, first woman Padmasri awardee in Mridangam Smt Sumati Ram Mohan Rao, Famous Vocalist Dr Dwaram Lakshmi, upcoming and eminent athlete Kum. Nandini Agasara also spoke on the occasion.

Before the commencement of the program, a ten-minute AV on Women achievers of Tirupati has been displayed which threw focus on Pallava Queen Samavai Perundevi, Sri Ramanujacharya mother Bhoopiratti, Tarigonda Vengamba, Damsel Lingasani, Komalamma, Bharat Ratna Smt MS Subbulakshmi and others who made their valuable contributions related to Tirumala and Tirupati which impressed the audience.

Later the invitees were felicitated and Padma Awards were given away to 20 women employees for their services in their respective offices. The Chairman also felicitated a Multipurpose worker Smt Subhashini, Offset Printer Smt Bhagyavati, Dolu College Nadaswaram HoD Smt Raviprabha, woman tonsurer Smt Gita were also felicitated on the occasion.

In the evening session, cultural programs were conducted where women employees of all age groups showcased their talents. Later the women who are going to retire this year have also been felicitated.

Later prizes have also been distributed to winners in Painting, Singing and Quiz competitions.

JEO Sri Veerabrahmam, CVSO Sri Narasimha Kishore, DLO Sri Veerraju, DEO Sri Bhaskar Reddy, DyEO welfare Smt Snehalata, DyEO Board Cell Smt Prasanthi, other women HoDs, Principals, Women leaders were also present.

Kalki on Aswa Vahana Held

Aswa Vahana carried Sri Somaskandamurty on Thursday as part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavam in Kapileswara Swamy temple.

Paramatma stays in Aswa form as per Krishna Yajurvedam. So Aswa, the Horse occupies a prominent place in Hindu Dharma and is a symbol of Majesty, Victory and Royalty.

All Out Efforts to Popularise Sarangapani Sankeethanas - TTD

TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy said on Thursday that TTD will make full efforts to popularise the Sankeertans of Sri Sarangapani which extolled glory and divinity of Sri Venugopal Swamy, an incarnation of Sri Maha Vishnu.

Launching the Sarangapani Project along with renowned veteran playback singer, Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr P Sushila at the SVETA Bhavan, also released a CD on Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Dvipada on Sri Bhagavatam.

Speaking on the occasion the TTD Chairman said the 17th-century poet and Carnatic sangeet exponent Sri Sarangapani had penned over 5000 devotional songs in Telugu and Sanskrit. The project aimed at choreograph and voice these sankeertans.

Among others he said the last TTD board meeting had resolved, to conduct daily sankeertans at Galigopuram, Mokalimettu and 7th mile junctions. Nitya Sankeertans at Vengamamba Brindavana, and training to all TTD temple staff from all over the country at SVETA.

Thereafter Dr P Susheela performed some sankeertan in her melodious voice and enthralled music lovers in Tirupati.

Sri Bhumana Subramanyam Reddy SVETA Director hailed the role Sri Sarangapani in penning sankeertan which saw light after 300 years and TTD commitment to popularise them.

SVBC Chairman Sri Saikrishna Yachendra and several music and literary figures were present.

Musical Feast

The music and dance programs organized by Sri Venkateswara College of Music and Dance and Sri Venkateswara Nadaswara and Dolu School on the seventh day of the annual Brahmotsavam of Sri Kapileswara Swamy were impressive.

As part of this, Srimati Srivani on Veena, Sri Ananthakrishna on Venu, Dr KV Krishna on Violin, Sri M. Sudhakar on Mridangam, Sri Shankar on Ghatam presented a mellifluous musical concert while the artists of Annamacharya Project entertained the devotees with melodious Sankeertans.

Earlier Dr K. Vandana and her disciples of the Vocal department casted divine magical spell on devotees.

Afterwards, the Bharatanatyam performance by Dr Himabindu's troupe, assistant professor of Sri Padmavati Women's University, allured the audience.

In this program the principal of the college Dr. Uma Muddubala and others participated.

TTD Committed Towards Taking Forward Sanatana Hindu Dharma - Kanchi Pontiff

Kanchi Kamakoti Pontiff Sri Sri Sri Vijayendra Saraswati Swami lauded the TTD Chairman Sri Bhumana Karunakara Reddy’s efforts in propagating and protecting the Sanatana Hindu Dharma, its cultural heritage and traditions by carrying out unique programs.

Earlier Chairman participated in the birthday celebrations of the Kanchi Pontiff at the Kanchi Mutt on the ISKCON Road in Tirupati and presented the silk vastram to the pontiff.

During his Anugraha speech, the Kanchi pontiff lauded the TTD Chairman for giving land for a setting up a conventional school and also lauded his role in beautifying and developing the Gangamma temple and the recently held successful Dharmic conference, besides naming a road in Tirupati after Kanchi seer HH Sri Chandrasekhara Swami.

Speaking on the occasion the TTD Chairman said the new Vedic school for Imparting traditional education to women started by the Kanchi Mutt is a role model to the entire country.
