Giving clarification to some baseless rumours spread on some social media platforms as well by a few electronic media channels, TTD Additional EO Sri Ch Venkaiah Chowdhary told media persons outside Annamaiah Bhavan that the decision has been taken in the larger interests of common devotees.

"We have observed that some dalaris are misusing the provision and selling the laddus in the black market. To curtail this we have decided that henceforth devotees who do not have darshan tokens can register their Aadhaar card at the laddu counters and get two laddus.

For this, special counters have been set up in the Laddu complex.  Devotees can get these laddus at counters number 48 to 62.

We have not restricted anything else. Devotees with darshan tokens or tickets shall buy additional laddus as before besides getting one free laddu. And this system will enhance transparency in Laddu distribution system'' he asserted.

He also appealed to the devotees not to believe the false rumours spread by some sections of the media and to cooperate with TTD in taking forward the transparent system.
